WHAT IS A BUCKET WHEEL WASHER?
Bucket Wheel Washers are generally used for dewatering sand or waste fines by removing clay and silt from the slurry which comes from a washing screen to recover high-quality, fine sand. It consists of a large spiral with buckets rotating in a tube. After the material has been scrubbed and washed inside the basin, the buckets then pick up the material and move it towards the discharge end dewatering it.
HOW DO BUCKET WHEEL WASHERS WORK?
Sand & water slurry is added to a steel tub. The sand fraction is pushed up the elevated chamber by the operation of the buckets while the particles pass through the overflow. The scooped-up sand is then drained by the bucket during its rotation cycle. To facilitate the process in the tank, there is a discharge path inside the tube.
